IRVING BERLIN'S HOLIDAY INN - Goodspeed Musicals

GOODSPEED HOLDS NON-EQUITY AUDITIONS FOR LOCAL BOYS

Calling all boys! Here’s your chance to join a professional acting company. Goodspeed Musicals is holding auditions for local Non-Equity child actors (BOYS between ages 10-13) for its upcoming production of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn. Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 22nd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn.

Auditions are for Charlie Winslow. A precocious, brutally honest 10 year-old, Charlie works part time as a messenger for the town bank. Never one to mince words, Charlie speaks his opinions loudly and asks a lot of questions; particularly when he's been reading the confidential messages he is delivering. Seeking an excellent young character actor with strong speaking and singing voice – and a great sense of humor.

All auditions are by appointment only. Appointments may be made starting immediately. Please call Company Management at
(860) 873-8664, ext. 387, Monday through Friday, 10 am - 5 pm.

Interested performers should prepare two songs (up-tempo and ballad, 32 bars – not the entire song). Bring a resume, photo and sheet music. Music must be legible and in the proper key (no lead sheets please). An accompanist will be provided.

Candidates must be available for rehearsals, August 19 – September 18, and performances, September 19 – November 30. Rehearsals and performances occur in East Haddam, Conn.

Performers of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition.

Dedicated to the preservation and advancement of musical theatre, Goodspeed Musicals, the first regional theatre to receive two Tony Awards for outstanding achievement, produces three musicals each season at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn., and additional musicals at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn., which celebrates 30 years of developing new musicals in 2014.
