South Bend Civic Theatre will hold open auditions Sunday October 6th at 5:30 in the Wilson Mainstage Auditorium for two special events. A special Holiday concert featuring songs drawn across the spectrum of faiths will be held on Wednesday December 18th on the Wilson Mainstage at 7:30 PM. Those auditioning will also be considered for the January Firehouse Cabaret presentation “Life is Certainly a Cabaret,” a concert highlighting the works of John Kander and Fred Ebb, composers of classic musicals such as Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Curtains, and Cabaret.

Male and female singers are sought in all ranges: Tenor, Baritone, Alto, Soprano (with emphasis on female “Belt” voices). People auditioning should come with Holiday song prepared (either 16 bars or a full song) – with requests for songs drawn from all faiths and styles (Christian, Jewish, Orthodox, Kwanzaa, Gospel, traditional, etc.) and languages. Also, Kander and Ebb songs may be sung for those wishing to be considered for the cabaret concert. A piano accompanist will be on hand so please bring sheet music.
