Buck Creek Playhouse will hold open auditions for Harold and Maude, based on the cult film of the same name. Director Cheryl Fesmire is looking for six females and seven males. All roles are available. Auditions will consist of readings from the script, and auditioners are strongly encouraged to have read the script prior to auditions to become familiar with the characters.

Harold and Maude is scheduled for a two weekend, six performance run March 23 through April 1, 2012. Reading copies of the script are available by e-mailing us at

. Please bring a list of all conflicts from January through April 2012.

Harold is a depressed, death-obsessed nineteen-year-old proverbial "rich kid" who spends his free time attending funerals and pretending to commit suicide in front of his mother. At a funeral, Harold befriends Maude, a delightfully wacky octogenarian, who has a real zest for life. She and Harold spend much time together during which she exposes him to the wonders and possibilities of life. What she teaches saves him, and will captivate audiences.
