AUDITIONS FOR FUNNY MONEY by Ray Cooney

AT POCKET SANDWICH THEATRE

Open auditions for Funny Money a hilarious comedy by Ray Cooney and under the direction of Carol Rice, will be held on Saturday, January 7 from 2-5 p.m. and Sunday, January 8 from 12 noon-3 p.m. The auditions will be held at the theatre, 5400 E. Mockingbird Lane, Suite 119, in Mockingbird Central Plaza, one block east of Central Expressway, across from Mockingbird Station DART Rail Center.

Henry picks up the wrong briefcase by mistake and finds it contains almost a million dollars! Realizing the owner of the briefcase was likely a criminal, he plans to flee the country with his wife immediately. However, the police arrive with unfortunate news- Henry is dead (or, a man with his briefcase was found dead). The arrival of an additional officer who suspects Henry of soliciting in the men's bathroom, and a dangerous mafioso who is not afraid to kill again, leads to a series of hilarious mistaken identities in this raucous comedy.

There are roles for 2 women (ages 20's through 40's) and 6 men (ages 20's through 60's.) Auditions will be cold readings from the script. Rehearsals will begin immediately after casting, and will be held on Saturdayand Sunday afternoons, and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings.
