COMPANY ONSTAGE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR

PETER MORGAN’S “FROST/NIXON” AND

LINDA DAUGHETRY’S “THE LITTLE MERMAID”

The Company OnStage Theatre announces auditions for two upcoming productions: “Frost/Nixon,” written by Peter Morgan and directed by Susan Salter, and “The Little Mermaid,” written by Linda Daughetry and directed by Amy Pope. Auditions will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 and Monday, November 17, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Company OnStage Theater located at 536 Westbury Square, off of Burdine, behind Home Depot. All auditions consist of cold readings from the scripts. Actors are encouraged to bring a headshot and a resume to the auditions. No appointment is needed.

“Frost/Nixon,” by Peter Morgan, tells the story of British talk-show host David Frost who has become a lowbrow laughing-stock, and Richard M. Nixon who has just resigned the United States presidency in total disgrace over Vietnam and the Watergate scandal. Determined to resurrect his career, Frost risks everything on a series of in-depth interviews in order to extract an apology from Nixon. The cagey Nixon, however, is equally bent on redeeming himself in his nation's eyes. In the television age, image is king, and both men are desperate to outtalk and upstage each other as the cameras roll. The result is the interview that sealed a president's legacy.

The following roles are available:

Richard Nixon – Male mid 60s

David Frost – Male, late 30s

Jim Reston – Male, mid 30s

“The Little Mermaid,” by Linda Daughetry is a charming and emotional staging of the classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Pearl is the daughter of the sea king and while she loves her home beneath the waves, she yearns and longs to be part of the world above the water. When she has a chance encounter with Prince Stefan, she decides to risk everything for love.
