Audition Dates - Tues. May 7th and Wed. May 8th at 7pm,

Callbacks Thurs. May 9th at 7pm.

No appointment necessary.

Location: Lake Worth Playhouse, 713 Lake Avenue Lake Worth, FL 33460

Performance Schedule: July 11th - 28th, 2019

Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals will begin a week after auditions and will take place on weeknights from 6:30 to 10pm. Weekend rehearsals may be added.

Audition Requirements: Please prepare 16 bars of a Broadway song in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided for you - please provide sheet music. In addition, smartphones and digital devices with an accompaniment track are accepted provided it is cued correctly prior to your audition. No Accapella auditions. Some actors may be asked to read from the script.

Available Roles:

Ren McCormick (17 -25) -Fun loving young man who seems to attract trouble. Struggles with his dad's departure and copes with his new surroundings. Outgoing, charming. Strong dancer

Ariel Moore (17-25) Feisty daughter of Reverend Moore. Acts out against her father to get attention.Interested in Ren. Strong Dancer

Reverend Shaw Moore (40 -60). Spiritual leader and civic influence. Heartbroken-covers it with piety. Has a hard time communicating with Ariel, but still loves her, he just can't express it.

Vi Moore (40- 60). Rev. Moore's wife. Supportive of her husband, but has her

own opinions. Strong- willed, but kind.

Ethel McCormick (40- 60). Ren's mom. Has to be strong for Ren- her own emotions

show through occasionally.

Willard Hewitt (17-25) Ren's best friend. Big guy, muscular short temper, loves his mama. Loyal and ready to defend anyone's honor. Shy around girls.

Rusty (17 -25) Fun loving girl. Trying to get Willard's attention.

Chuck Cranston (17-25) Ariel's boyfriend. Rough, demanding and jealous

Urleen (17-25) Ariel's friend. Book smart and supportive.

Wendy Jo (17-25) Ariel's friend. Street smart and supportive.

Lyle (17-25) Chuck's friend. Rough and tumble

Travis (17-25) Chuck's friend. Rough and tumble.

Garvin (17-25) Willard's friend. Crass, but fun-loving

Jeter (17-25) Willard's friend. Crass, but fun-loving.

Bickle (17-25) Willard's friend. Crass, but fun-loving.

Wes Warnicker (40-60) Ethel's brother-in-law. Tough and authoritative.

Lulu Warnicker (40 -60) Ethel's sister. A gossip.

Coach Roger Dunbar - High school coach. Rev. Moore loyalist

Principal Harry Clark - High school principal. Rev Moore loyalist

Betty Blast - No- nonsense owner of the Burger Blast.

Cowboy Bob - Cowboy hat, boots and an attitude. Thinks of himself as the only real man in the room.

Country Fiddler - A few lines, not required to sing or dance.

Ensemble Dancers - Several big dance numbers in show - any combination of the following skills are a plus:acrobatics, gymnastics, break-dancing, line-dancing, leaps, splits.

ABOUT LAKE WORTH PLAYHOUSE

Lake Worth Playhouse is located at 713 Lake Ave in Downtown Lake Worth. Valet Parking is $5 (when available). Street and lot parking is also available.
