The Square Foot Theatre Company, Wallingford, CT will be holding auditions for its production of Eddie and The Palaceades. Auditions will be held Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2 to 6 pm. Rehearsals begin in February. Production dates are March 31, April 1, 7, 8, and 9, 2017.
Eddie and the Palaceades is an award-winning all original rock and roll musical about a 60s era band from Waterbury, CT who opened for the Beatles on their 1966 American Tour then sacrificed their musical hopes and dreams to raise their kids. The story opens 30 years later when they are empty-nesters looking to restart their musical career and Eddie winds up running for mayor to save the old Palace Theater where they got their start. The show is part of Square Foot Theatre Company’s adult Series. You must be in college or older to audition.
Cast requirements are for Eddie, the band’s lead singer, now in his 50s. His wife Gracie also a band member in her 50s and fellow band member and best friend Vinny in his 50s. There is a role for Mary, Eddie and Gracie’s daughter in her 20s and there is Biggie Williams the corrupt mayor of Brass City in his 40s. Three featured roles are available for Aldermen, whose age, gender and ethnicity are unspecified. Additionally, there is need for an ensemble of 4-6 persons to play numerous incidental roles. squarefoottheatre.com/auditions and print out an audition form. Please bring this with you to your appointment. Those auditioning should prepare a music theatre song in the style of the show. Our Music Director will be on hand to accompany. Please provide sheet music.
