Auditions

Mysterium Theater is proud to present

December 12 and 13 at 7pm

Disney's Aladdin Dual Language Edition features the Academy Award-winning score from Disney's animated classic, with lyrics in both Spanish and English.

Our story begins centuries ago, when the royalty of Agrabah spoke one language and the citizens another. Communication is impossible without translation... which is controlled by the evil vizier, Jafar. When the rebellious princess, Jazmin, and a delinquent street rat, Aladdin, meet in the marketplace, they find something special in one another. Together, they work to transcend the barriers between them and, with a little magic, help create a better future for themselves and for Agrabah. This touching musical adventure will thrill both Spanish- and English-speaking audiences.

Character Breakdown

Aladdin: Aladdin is a poor but streetwise young optimist who dreams of a brighter destiny and is determined to find it.

Genie: The Genie is a joke-cracking, shape-changing, big blue motor mouth who makes your wishes come true... and makes a great friend, too.

Jasmine: Jasmine is an independent, fiery beauty capable of taking care of herself. She longs to experience life outside the palace.

Jafar: Jafar will not hesitate to destroy anyone he perceives as a threat to his own sinister designs.

Sultan: The kind and dithery Sultan only wants what's best for his daughter, Jasmine. Too trusting, he falls under Jafar's magical influence.

Iago: Though this articulate, cranky, cracker-hating parrot's squawk is worse than is bite, he often finds himself doing Jafar's dirty work.

Abu: Aladdin's bright-eyed and nimble-pawed pet monkey has a major talent for minor mischief and kleptomania.

Magic Carpet: This elegant and graceful Magic Carpet has wall-to-wall personality and plays an important role in Aladdin's wooing of Jasmine.

Rajah: Rajah may be docile and sweet as a kitten, but he's a real tiger when it comes to defending his mistress, Jasmine.

Narrators/Ensemble: Need strong dancers and character story tellers who can engage and captivate the audience !
