WAUKESHA CIVIC THEATRE ANNOUNCES OPEN AUDITIONS FOR:

Curtains

Book by Rupert Holmes and Peter Stone, Music by John Kander, Lyrics by Fred Ebb

Open auditions for the Waukesha Civic Theatre’s production of Curtains have been changed from the previously released dates. They will be held:

  • Sunday, December 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Monday, December 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Callbacks will be on Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m.

No appointment is necessary. Auditions will be held at the Waukesha Civic Theatre Building at 264 West Main Street, Waukesha. Those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script, prepare 32 bars of a musical comedy piece and 32 bars of a ballad, and provide sheet music in their key for the accompanist. Unaccompanied auditions are discouraged. A dance audition may or may not take place. If you will not arrive at auditions until 8:00or later, please contact the theatre so the director can be informed. If there is no one present to audition the production staff may choose to leave unless they know someone is planning to arrive late.

When the famous but talentless Jessica Crenshaw is murdered on stage at the opening of her new musical, the cast and crew find themselves investigated by a theater-loving detective. This new musical comedy features deceit, murder, and plenty of song and dance.

All roles are open.

Ten or more men, and five or more women ages 20s to 60s

Curtains will run March 14-30, 2014 at WCT. Meghan Randolph is directing. Anne Van Deusen is music directing.
