Colorado Springs Chorale Announces
Auditions for its 61st Season!
The Colorado Springs Chorale, under the direction of Artistic Director Deborah Jenkins Teske, invites singers to audition for the premier adult chorus in the Pikes Peak Region. Our 61st season will include a rich variety of performances at Pikes Peak Center with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and at the exciting new ENT Center for the Performing Arts with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, and more. We will also partner with Opera Theatre of the Rockies for performances of Verdi’s Aida. Auditions for all voice parts will be held the evening of August 16 at First Christian Church, 16 E. Platte Ave. Auditions are by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling the Chorale office at

Singers should prepare one song from the classical, art song or similar style repertoire. Hymn arrangements may be acceptable, but hymns right from the hymn-book rarely show off your voice to its best. Musical Theater/Broadway may also be acceptable. No pop songs please. Other elements of the audition may include sight singing, aural recall, rhythm reading, and vocal exercises to demonstrate the singer’s vocal range.
The Colorado Springs Chorale rehearses from late August to late May. The group performs independently, as well as in partnership with groups such as the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale, the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, and others. Singers pay dues, and buy their music and uniforms. Some scholarship assistance may be available to help with some of these costs.
