Auditions will be at Rover Dramawerks, located at
221 W. Parker Road, Suite 580 in Plano, at the northwest corner of 75 and Parker Rd. in the Ruisseau Village Shopping Center.
Brief Synopsis:
A darkly comic adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, this is a fast-paced romp about men and women tightrope walking the line between aristocracy and depravity, and between the twin spectres of good and evil. The humor is nonstop, but cannot cover the highly sinister aspects of the plot… —San Francisco Bay Times.
Roles available for 2 men, 5 women, 2 either
Euphronia Jekyll - Mother to Henry and Ambrosia. Matriarch to the family and always concerned of social class. British accent. Played by either female, those that identify as female, or male in drag. Any age.
Ambrosia Jekyll - Henry's bossy sister. British accent. Anxious for Henry to marry. Female or those who identify as female. (Also will double as the Constable- a male role. Actor must feel comfortable playing both male and female.) Age 21-35.
Henry Jekyll/Mr. Hyde - Chemist with a dual personality. British accent. Physical comedy and fight choreography required. Male or those that identify as male. Age 21-35.
Lady Throckmortonshire - A grande dame. British accent. Mother to Penelope/Calliope. Physical comedy required. Played by either a female, those that identify as female, or male in drag. Any age.
Calliope and Penelope Throckmortonshire - Twin daughters played by the same actress. British accent. Female or those that identify as female. Actor can be any age although the character is about 8-9 years old. Physical comedy required.
Rosamunda Dewthistle - Eligible young lady with her eye on Henry. British accent. Female or those that identify as female. Age 21-30.
Xavier Utterson - Cousin to Ambrosia and Henry. Henry's confidant. British accent. EXTREME physical comedy and fight choreography required. Male or those that identify as male. (Actor will also double as the Lieutenant.) Age 21-35.
Ivy - The maid. Cockney accent. Actor must be comfortable with physical comedy and prat falls. Female or those that identify as female. Any age.
Plodgett - The cook. Scottish accent (or cockney). Female or those that identify as female. Any age.
**This show requires physical comedy from most characters. Think Monty Python meets a B Horror film meets Three Stooges.

- Actors and technicians will receive stipends.
- Rehearsals will be in Plano starting around the week of August 26. All conflicts must be noted at time of audition.
