AUDITIONS FOR Captain Phantasm Meets Major Majestic

Open auditions for Captain Phantasm Meets Major Majestic a popcorn tossing melodrama under the direction of Michael Speck, will be held on Sunday, February 5 from 10am-12:30pm and Monday, February 6 from 7pm-9:30pm. The auditions will be held at the theatre, 5400 E. Mockingbird Lane, Suite 119, in Mockingbird Central Plaza, one block east of Central Expressway, across from Mockingbird Station DART Rail Center.
For more than a decade, Captain Phantasm has been fighting evildoers with his heightened catlike reflexes, his uncanny intellect, and his mighty fists of justice. But now a new superhero has risen to the number one position as Metroville City's protector, and Captain Phantasm is starting to feel like number two. Don't miss Captain Phantasm Meets Major Majestic, a popcorn-tossing comedy that celebrates the classic pulp heroes of comic books and 1940s serials.
There are roles for 2 women (ages 20's through 40's) and 7 men (ages 20's through 60's.) Auditions will be cold readings from the script. Rehearsals will begin February 26, and will be held on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. Actors are paid a stipend (theater talk for not very much, but you'll have the time of your life!) The show will open on March 31 and will run through May 13, with shows Thursday through Sunday evenings. Auditions are by appointment, which can be made by calling

ROLES: The Roles of Captain Phantasm/Knox Henderson, Pretty Perfect, Professor, Kitty Velour, Babs, and Emcee are precast. They are being reprised by the performers from Captain Phantasm and the Countdown to... Doom.
*Major Majestic/Mysterious Figure: (M) Metroville City's newest superhero, who wages a tireless battle against the forces of evil with his powerful punch of jurisprudence. But his noble actions are actually driven by a secret and deadly vendetta against Captain Phantasm. Think Lex Luthor, Captain Hammer, and Syndrome, a mix of those.
*Mayor: (M) Hizzoner is the consummate politician, with a real talent for self-promotion and self-preservation. No Trump impersonations please.
*Mugsy, Bugsy, Schlabotka, Machine Gun Butch, Pretty Boy Hershel, Jimmy the Schnoz, Flatulent Charlie: (M or F) Various gang members manipulated by the Mysterious Figure. It's a wonder how they've managed to steal anything.
*Officer Bigboote, Officer Yaya, Detective Defazio, Detective Feeney: (M or F) Cops of Mertoville City. It's a wonder how they could arrest or get any information from someone without Captain Phantasm.
*Mystic Monk: (M or F) Ancient one who trained Captain Phantasm and Major Majestic. Male character but could possibly be played by a female. Ability to impersonate Joe Dickinson a plus.
*Young Knox and Young Craig (M or F): Young (13ish) versions of Captain Phantasm and Major Majestic. Again male characters, but open to idea of being played by women.
*Elmer Gillyputty: (M) cantankerous old man.
*Dick Nichols: (M) Gun Salesman. Likely to be played by same as actor as Mayor.
Obviously there will be multiple actors who play multiple roles. Come willing to try anything.
