for the first show of its 21st season, the sharp comedy Blame it on Beckett, by
John Morogiello, directed by Kevin McNair.

Performances will be October 3 through 19, 2014.

Auditions will be held on July 15th and 16th at 7:30 pm at the Milford Center

who may be unable to attend those audition times should contact the Producer,
Ann Baker, at abaker0728@gmail.com to set up an alternate time.

Please prepare a short, contemporary comedic monologue (1-2 min.) Actors who
are not prepared with a monologue will have sides available to them. Actors
interested in reviewing sides in advance should contact the Producer.
Additionally, all actors should bring a current headshot (or recent photo) and
acting resume.

Synopsis:
Heidi Bishop is a young, idealistic girl working for a theatre company somewhere
in New England. She is partnered with the cynical Jim Foley to read and
respond to the flood of scripts competing for production. Jim has been burned
out by an endless barrage of bad writing. As he rants about creativity and his
bleak vision for the future of theatre in general, Heidi does her best to stay
positive. But she finds her artistic integrity at odds with both a dwindling
audience and the political power struggles of the business world.

Roles Available:

Heidi Bishop (f): Approximately 25 years old - A young bright-eyed idealistic
MFA graduate who has ambitions to take over the literary office.

Jim Foley (m): Approximately 40 years old - The resident dramaturg at a New
England theatre. He's a cynic that stresses traditional theatrical values while on
a never ending journey for the perfect dramatic structure.

Mike Braschi (m): Approximately 35 years old - Typical ambitious, opportunistic
theatre manager who only sees his current position as a step to something
better.

Tina Fike (f): Approximately Late 40's – early 60's - Commands a room. She's a
famous feminist playwright. Appreciates those who support her but little patience
for anyone who doesn't.
