Auditions will be at Rover Dramawerks, located at 221 W. Parker Road, Suite 580 in Plano, at the northwest corner of 75 and Parker Rd. in the Ruisseau Village Shopping Center.
Brief Synopsis:
In this World Premiere comedy, plastic surgeon Dr. John Swift is in BIG trouble...he’s in debt to loan sharks, the FBI wants him to help bring down a ruthless mobster, and he’s gotten both his wife and the mobster’s girlfriend pregnant. You won’t believe how he gets out of it!
Roles: 5 men, 5 women
Please note that the age ranges below are intentionally broad and casting is partially dependent on the age range of the audition pool. If you think you can play/sell the director on your playing the role, please audition for it.
DR. JOHN SWIFT - late 20s-early 40s male. Top-notch breast surgeon whose gambling addiction has led him down the road of pathological lying, thus opening the door for “the mob” to take over his business. He's a man in a bind - and he knows it. He does his best to hide his flaws. It hurts, but he does his best to ignore the pain.
BETH SWIFT - late 20s-early 40s female. John's wife - perky, pregnancy-obsessed, naïve; with a blind spot of love for her husband, which allows her to overlook his flaws.
VITO BRUNETTI - mid-to-late 30s-60s male. NY Mobster, dangerous, with an infinitely suspicious nature and keen desire to move up the Mafia food chain. He steamrolls any opponents in his path. Forgiveness is NOT a word in his vocabulary.
TINA FALCONE - mid-to-late 30s to mid-to-late 40s female. Vito's moll - no longer able to play the ingénue, this sneaky, crafty actress seeks her most financially-successful role yet: to become a mob wife. She'll be living a life of luxury...if she can just get Vito's ring on her finger.
RITA BRUNETTI - late 30s-60s female. Vito's spinster sister and John's receptionist - half-blind, bad digestion. Always having “GI” issues, she is addicted to Pepto Bismol. Not good with office machinery.
AGENT SCULDER - 20s-30s male. A by-the-book FBI agent with a secret crush on his partner, Agent Mully. Intent on putting Vito behind bars, he thinks he's Eliot Ness of “The Untouchables” fame.
AGENT MULLY - 20s-30s female. She is the yang to her partner Agent Sculder’s yin. She's attracted to Sculder but she just doesn't know it. She considers herself to be no-nonsense and tough, perhaps because she's working what is considered to be a traditionally male job.
DON LUIGI, 50+ male. The Godfather. His desperation and desire to keep his much-younger girlfriend happy has led him to Dr. Swift's office so that he can become “bigger” downstairs (yes, it is what you think). His “stature” may be small, but he demands respect. Or else.
BODYGUARD 1, any age, male or female. Don Luigi’s bodyguard.
BODYGUARD 2, any age, male or female. Another of Don Luigi’s bodyguards.
All roles are available. Some roles may be doubled.

- Please prepare a one-minute, memorized comedic monologue.
- Be prepared to read from the script.
- Please bring a resume and head shot.

- Actors and technicians will receive stipends.
- Rehearsals will begin in Plano in mid-to-late January 2017. Exact rehearsal schedule TBA but all conflicts must be noted at time of audition.
