ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY - North Texas Performing Arts

North Texas Preforming Arts celebrates the 10th anniversary of their Professional Daytime Children’s Series with a production of “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.” The Daytime Children’s Series is a series of productions with professional actors preforming educational literacy-based shows for pre-school and elementary-aged children during the day.

Direction

“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” will be directed by Screen Actors Guild member Mickalean McCormick, a 16-year veteran of the Hollywood film and theatre scene. Mickalean McCormick will be joined by Musical Director Mike Mazur, a 20-year professional who has directed all over the country and holds a master’s degree in musical theatre from NYU.

Performances

North Texas Performing Arts’ Daytime Children’s Series will perform at the Courtyard Theater in Plano, TX on July 17, 18 and 19 with performances at 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

Auditions

North Texas Preforming Arts is looking for 7 professional actors over the age of 18 to star in their Daytime Children’s Series “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.” All actors must be able to sing, dance and act. We are casting 4 male spots and 3 female spots to play many parts. All actors should prepare a 2 minute monologue and a song.

Auditions we’ll be held at the Plano Children’s Theatre, 1301 Custer Road, Plano TX on May 8, 9 and 11 from 1:00-3:00 PM with call backs on May 15 from 1:00-3:00 PM. Actors should sign up for an audition slot at ntpa.us/alexander.

Other Information

All actors cast will be responsible for every aspect of the production, including load-in and out of all props, costumes and set pieces. The actors will be asked to help find costume and prop pieces for the production. All actors will be paid a flat rate of $700 for the production, which will include all rehearsals, costume fittings, promotional photos, tech rehearsals and performances. All rehearsals and performances will be held during the day; actors who are unavailable during the day should not audition.
