Seeking Non-union male and female actors for the roles of:
CAPTAIN ROBERT A. RAGAN: Caucasian male, 25-35. As the story begins, it is January 8, 1917. Robert is 78 and gravely ill. He flashes back to 1861 and he is 25-30 years old for the majority of the piece. The end of the story returns to 1916. He is resourceful, sincere, and passionate about his family and country. A non-singing role. *ROLE IS CAST - but will consider people auditioning for replacement and/or future runs of the show.
ACTOR 1: Caucasian male, 30s. Able to portray a variety of characters, ages. Characters tend to be more comedic (main character's son who is an Army doctor, farmer, Confederate soldier, main character's father, etc.). Ability to sing a plus, but definitely not required.
ACTOR 2: Caucasian male, 30s. Able to portray a variety of characters, ages. Characters tend to be more serious (hog rancher, Confederate soldier, friend of main character, etc.). Ability to sing a plus, but definitely not required.
ACTOR 3: African American male, 30s. Able to portray a variety of characters, ages (preacher, Union soldier, slave, Congressman, etc.). Ability to sing a plus, but not required.
ACTOR 4: Caucasian female, 30s. Able to portray a variety of characters, ages (main character's daughter, main character's wife, an old Union lady - character part, neighbor, Rebel sympathizer, etc.). Ability to sing a plus, but definitely not required. *ROLE IS CAST -- but will consider people auditioning for replacement and/or future runs of the show.
THE SOLOIST: African American female, late 20s-30s. Gospel and Musical Theatre Singer.
