AVENUE Q - Sierra Stages

OPEN AUDITIONS FOR

THE HILARIOUS BROADWAY MUSICAL “AVENUE Q”

Sierra Stages to Tony Award-Winning Musical

at the Nevada Theatre in July 2013

Sierra Stages is pleased to announce open auditions for its summer production of Broadway’s Best Musical of 2004 “Avenue Q”. The show plays from July 10 through August 3, 2012 at the Nevada Theatre in Nevada City, and is directed by Robert Rossman. Puppet consultation is by Ken Miele and musical direction is by Ken Getz, who will also conduct the orchestra.

Winner of the Tony Award “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, “Avenue Q” is part flesh (humans), part felt (puppets), and packed with heart (universal). “Avenue Q” tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets the girl next door, a Republican, an internet sexpert, and Gary Coleman (need we say more?), along with other colorful types who help Princeton finally discover his purpose in life. Be warned that “Avenue Q” contains adult language and puppet nudity. It is not for the kids (and some adults), but your teenagers will think you’re cool if you take them!

There are two opportunities to audition: Thursday, January 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Auditions on both dates are at the Off Center Stage, 315 Richardson Street, Grass Valley. All roles other than Christmas Eve are open. For important information about auditions and scheduling an appointment, please visit
