Denton Community Theatre Announces Auditions for
A Christmas Story

Denton Community Theatre is pleased to announce open auditions for our production of A Christmas Story, a play by Philip Grecian, based upon the motion picture A Christmas Story -1983 Turner Entertainment Co., distributed by Warner Bros., written by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown and Bob Clark, and In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash by JEAN SHEPHERD and directed by Richard Dennis.
Auditions will be held Sunday, October 1 and Monday, October 2 at 7:00 pm with callbacks, if necessary on Tuesday, October 3. Auditions are open-no appointments are necessary. Copies of the script are available for checkout and perusal from the Campus box office through Monday September 25 – all scripts must be returned by September 29.
Set in the American mid-west in the 1940’s, this memoir of 9-year-old Ralphie Parker follows his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. Faithful to the motion picture, the response he keeps getting is, “You’ll shoot your eye out.” Celebrate the season with Ralphie, his family, and even the school bully in this holiday favorite.
