RIVERSIDE CENTER DINNER THEATER ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR

9 to 5: The Musical
Music and Lyrics by Dolly Parton
Book by Patricia Resnick
Based on the 20th Century Fox

Producing Artistic Director: Patrick A’Hearn
Director/Choreographer: Patti D’Beck
Musical Director: Jason Michael

Performance Dates: March 7, 2015 – May 3, 2015
Rehearsals begin mid-January


Auditions will be held by appointment.
Sunday, Oct 5 & Monday, Oct 6
Appts between 6:30pm – 10pm
Callbacks Sunday, Oct 12

For auditions, please prepare 32 bars of a traditional Broadway style song in the style of the show. You should be prepared to move at the audition. Please bring a headshot, or recent
photograph, and a resume.

All appointments will be scheduled via email. For an appointment time, please email productionmanager@riversidedt.com. If you do not get a response to your email within 48 hours, you may call Carole Shrader at 540-842-0203. Please do not call the box office.

9 to 5 Breakdown

Seeking:

PRINCIPALS:

Violet Newstead
40s, The company’s Head Secretary and Mr. Hart’s Administrative Assistant, she is smart and efficient, a working mom. She stands up for what she believes in.
Vocal range -Alto

Doralee Rhodes
Late 20s, spirited country gal, warm and personable. Don’t underestimate her barbie doll appearance. (Dolly Parton-type)
Vocal Range – Soprano, high belt

Judy Bernly
Mid-30s, a bit meek & quite proper, she’s the new girl, a little insecure but determined and hopeful. She has been burned by her husband’s affair.
Vocal range – Soprano, high belt

Franklin Hart, Jr
45-50s The notorious boss, smarmy, pompous, his own biggest fan. He can fool you with his temporary charm but soon shows his arrogant, self-absorbed attitude.
Vocal range - Baritone

Roz Keith (THIS ROLE IS CAST)
Company snitch who will do anything to win Mr. Hart’s approval.
Vocal range - Alto

Joe
Male, cute, young, office accountant, mid-late 20s smitten with Violet,
Vocal range – tenor, high baritone

ENSEMBLE :
Also seeking an ensemble of female and male singers who move well to play multiple supporting roles including:
Dwayne
Husband to Doralee, late 20s – early 30s, Handsome, he is supportive of Doralee’s professional pursuits.

Josh
Violet’s teenage son, 15-18 years old. A little awkward for his age.

Fluttery and ditzy, a bit clueless

Maria Delgado
young and vibrant

Dick
Judy’s (Ex) Husband, mid 30s – mid 40s, Average guy, a little less hair and a little more paunch than he had ten years ago.

Kathy
the office gossip, nosey, busybody

(All Singers must be proficient in blending/singing in tight harmonies.)
