ROVER DRAMAWERKS ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS

365 WOMEN A YEAR FESTIVAL

Auditions:
Saturday, February 15 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Sunday, February 16 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm

Auditions will be at Rover Dramawerks, 221 W. Parker Road, Suite 580 in Plano, at the northwest corner of 75 and Parker Rd. in the Ruisseau Village Shopping Center.

Brief Synopses:
Rover is pleased to present 8 plays by playwrights all over the United States for our sixth annual 365 Women a Year Festival. Directors are looking for an ensemble of ethnically diverse actors (male and female) to fill various roles for a festival of full-length staged readings and fully staged short productions.

Roles available: about 18 men and 18 women, 2 either, ages 11+:

Dear Anne, From Nina by Claudia I. Haas, directed by Glynda Welch

- NINA JENSEN (female, 11-13 and 16 in end scene) student, sister of Jeannie; wants out of the farm life

- JEANNIE JENSEN (female 14-16 and 19-20 in end scene), student, sister of Nina; content wherever she is

- ALICE JENSEN (female, mid 30s) teacher, mother to Nina and Jeannie; the farm is all she knows

- CHARLIE MILLER (male, 16-18 and 24 in end scene) friend/neighbor of the Jensens; initially content to life his life in Danville telling bad jokes

- ANNE FRANK (female, 11-13) a young girl in Amsterdam; her cup runneth over

- MARGOT FRANK (female, 14-16), Anne’s sister; inward, she is stronger than you know

- OTTO FRANK (male, 40s) Anne and Margot’s father; protector of his children

Vogue written and directed by Libby Mitchell

- ALINE BERNSTEIN - 40s, put together, charismatic, happy

It Will Happen by Carol M. Rice, directed by Libby Mitchell

- JEAN MARIAN PURDY - Female, nurse and embryologist, English, age 32

- ROBERT EDWARDS - Male, biologist and physiologist, English, age 52

- PATRICK STEPTOE - Male, obstetrician and gynecologist, English, age 64

- CELLS - Two roles that are primarily movement, as their dance is essential to telling this story. Any age and ethnicity, male or female.

The Hooligans Outside My Door by Susan Shafer, directed by Mildred Austin

- GEORGIA O’KEEFFE, a 21-year-old art student

- PROPRIETOR, a clerk in an art store

Actors will be considered for multiple plays and multiple roles.
