Second-generation, New York-born Rosa Garraffa discovers shes pregnant by her Jewish fiancé, Aaron Goldman. Her traditional Sicilian father, Dante, disowns and banishes her. Twenty years later, Rosa's Jewish-raised daughter, Barbara, along with her Brooklyn-born Neapolitan boyfriend, Matt Volpe, step into the picture and attempt to reunite the broken family.
