Thursday, January 24 at 7:30 pm

Adventurer, TV personality and author Josh Gates will discuss some of his most intriguing journeys at Mayo Performing Arts Center on Thursday, January 24 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $29-$69.

Josh Gates is the host and executive producer of the Travel Channel series, Expedition Unknown. The show takes viewers around the world and off the map for thrilling investigations into history's most iconic legends. From Amelia Earhart to lost Incan cities, Gates travels to some of the most remote corners of the planet in immersive, hilarious, and nail-biting journeys of discovery.

For five years, Josh also helmed and co-executive produced the hit Syfy Channel series, Destination Truth. Each week, Gates and his intrepid team set out to investigate age-old mysteries, recent cryptozoological sightings, and paranormal reports. The groundbreaking series is regarded as one of the most globe-spanning shows on television, touching down in nearly twenty countries each season. For five years, Josh also served as the host of the immensely popular Ghost Hunters Live. In 2010, Josh hosted the live 100th episode of Ghost Hunters from the historic stage of Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center. He has also appeared on The Today Show, CNN, and a variety of other national television and radio programs.

An avid scuba diver and photographer, Josh has participated in sub-sea archaeological excavations in the Mediterranean, and his wanderlust has taken him from sweltering African deserts to the icy shores of Antarctica. To date, he has set foot in more than ninety countries, has scaled "the roof of Africa" on Mt. Kilimanjaro, and climbed Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in the Americas. More of Josh's travels are chronicled in his bestselling book, Memoirs of a Monster Hunter, which was published by Simon and Schuster in 2011.

Although Josh currently resides in Los Angeles, he originally hails from the East Coast. Josh holds degrees from Tufts University in Archaeology and Drama and is a fellow of The Explorers Club, a prestigious organization dedicated to the advancement of exploration and field research.

The Magic of Adam Trent
Saturday, January 26 at 7:30 pm

Broadway/TV star Adam Trent is bringing his signature brand of magic and illusion to Mayo Performing Arts Center in a high-tech stage spectacle on Saturday, January 26 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $29-$69.

The Magic of Adam Trent is an immersive entertainment extravaganza of magic, comedy and music designed to entertain the entire family. Showcasing his "futuristic" brand of magic, Trent has mesmerized live audiences around the globe, in person and as a featured guest on America's Got Talent, The Today Show, Ellen, Rachael Ray Show and Disney Channel among countless other TV appearances. The 32-year-old also stars in his own 10-episode TV series 'The Road Trick' available on Netflix and Red Bull TV.

"I am so excited to hit the road and bring an entirely new show to audiences around the world," says Trent, who has always thought that magic should be entertaining first and tricky second. He doesn't want people to remember "tricks" as much as the laughs and memories made with the performance. "This will be a show like you've never seen."

The Magic of Adam Trent is produced by MagicSpace Entertainment and The Works Entertainment. "Adam Trent is unlike any magician working today, a funny, witty and accomplished entertainer - the next David Copperfield meets Justin Timberlake," says creative producer Simon Painter. "He has a knack for electrifying giant television and theatre audiences with his unique brand of magic."
