To say that my two year old son Alexander is obsessed with dinosaurs would be a gross understatement. He dreams of dinosaurs, he walks - rather stomps - around our house like a T-Rex, if I want him to try a new food I have to somehow convince him that it is what the dinosaurs (probably) ate. After owning his first dinosaur book for three days he had every single name and feature memorized and was correcting my pronunciation. I think it's safe to say that I now know more about dinosaurs than most 32 year old women in the tri-state area. When I received the Press Release about Morris Museum's Dino Family Day I immediately forwarded it to my husband who replied with: "Oh boy."

A few months back on a snowy Saturday we decided to visit Morris Museum with friends after hearing about all the kid friendly exhibits. I was shocked to see the enormous train set donated by Mondelez that used to be a staple in our Christmas season as children when my parents would take us to see the impressive set up at the former Nabisco campus. It's really an incredible and interactive experience, well preserved and truly timeless in its appeal; it also came around the tail end of the 18 month "Train Phase" (at this point I refer to these stages as age markers in my head). We made our way up to the second floor where we were greeted with a permanent dinosaur exhibit, The Dino Den. He was in toddler heaven and he can't wait to go back!

I am so excited to bring the kiddos to Dino Family Day on April 7. If I had to guess I would say that Alexander will be particularly jazzed to talk with the dinosaur expert, Gary Manageri, from NJ Paleontology Society (note to self: find out if they allow two year olds and their moms to join said society) but I can't even tell him we are going because he will ask me about it non-stop and I don't know how to make time speed up. Morris Museum has a ton of events for kids who love science - and face it, all kids love science - coming up in the next few months. This spring they are offering Spring Time Super Science Programs on Friday afternoons and you better believe we will be there! Their website is updated regularly with the new programs and they fill up fast!

Hope to see you all April 7! I'll be the mom trying to pronounce Quetzalcoatlus!
