Hendersonville Performing Arts Company Announces Auditions For SHREK!

The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company announces auditions for Shrek The Musical to be held January 19th & 20th from 1:00pm - 5:00pm at The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company, located in the City Square Shopping Center, 260 West Main St., Suite 204 in Hendersonville.

Based on the Oscar-winning Dreamworks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. It is encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes before your audition time to fill out an audition form. Please prepare a Broadway style song (approximately 1 minute in length). Bring your instrumental track on a CD, iPhone, iPad, mp3 player, or smart device. A sound system will be provided for easy hookup. Please do not sing a cappella. You may also bring clearly marked music in the correct key for our accompanist.

Be prepared for a "cold read" from the script. You will also be asked to stay for a dance audition. Headshots and resumes are welcome but not required. It is not necessary to attend both evenings of auditions.

The production dates for Shrek The Musical are May 23 through June 9. Rehearsals will begin the first week of February. Please come to auditions with all listed conflicts.
