Colossus the voice of brass character charming and warm, the Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel is before all hailed as the greatest singer-actor of his generation. Like its stage incarnations, his concerts are like no other. In its programme of Bad Boys, Bryn Terfel proposes, with the complicity of the chorus of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, a gallery of portraits of the most flamboyant villains in the lyric art. Of the sadistic Scarpia (Tosca) at the manipulator par excellence that is Iago (Otello) through the multiple faces coated by the Devil (Faust, Mefistofele), Terfel distilled with delight consumed art to portray the darker recesses of the soul.
The uniqueness of Bad Boys is not limited to the classical repertoire of the 19th century but to discover any also sulphur characters under the pen of George Gershwin and Kurt Weill. After its spiritual and drolatique incarnation of the title role of Falstaff, Opéra de Monte - Carlo is pleased to offer its public face "black" singer Bryn Terfel.
