Matt Giles Named General Manager of Children's Theatre Company

Children's Theatre Company (CTC) announced today the appointment of Matt Giles as the organization's new General Manager. Giles served as the Associate Producing Director for Seattle Repertory Theatre and Artistic Producer of Public Works Seattle. Matt has been with Seattle Rep since 2011 and served as producer for their main stage season of five to six productions per year, including co-productions with multiple regional theatres and Public Works Seattle which is a year-long community project culminating with a production involving 150-200 community members. He has strong experience in working with commercial producers and other regional theatres as he was involved in launching and producing the pre-Broadway run of Come From Away in a partnership with a commercial producer and La Jolla Playhouse, and the national tour of The Humans.

"His experience with commercial partnerships and co-productions will be beneficial to our continued work nationally. The range of his experience both producing mainstage works as well as community involvement makes him an excellent addition to our senior team."

Additionally, Giles as served as a freelance director and teaching artist at Seattle Children's Theatre and Village Theatre KIDSTAGE. Prior to his time in Seattle, he was the Artistic and Education Director of Spartanburg Youth! Theatre in South Carolina and Artistic Director of Catapult Theatre Project in Seattle. Matt Giles has a Bachelor's of Arts in Theatre and Government from Wofford College.

The General Manager position is a key operations leader and contract negotiator for CTC with a focus on pursuing and driving national commercial, co-production, and licensing opportunities, and on operational aspects of the organization including facilities, IT, and security. Matt began his new role at CTC on December 3, 2018.
