Leading Ladies will run October 15th-30th at St. D’s and the cast is so happy to finally put this comedy on the stage. BWW Detroit had a chance to speak with Franklin native Jason Dilly who plays Leo in the show and is the big brother of Erin Dilly who originated the role of Meg in the 2004 Broadway production directed by Ken Ludwig!
18 months ago, in March of 2020, St. Dunstan’s Theatre was just one week from Opening Night of the Ken Ludwig comedy, Leading Ladies. The stage was set, the costumes were ready to go, and the actors and crew were putting on the finishing touches. On March 13, 2020, rehearsals ceased, and everyone left the theatre. At first, it was assumed the show could just be pushed back a month, maybe two. Little did anyone know that it would be a year and a half until we returned to the stage to finally be able to bring Leading Ladies to a live audience!
Due to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's' temporary ban on all large group events in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, theatres across the state are postponing and/or canceling performances. BroadwayWorld Detroit is doing its best to combine a list of those performances in one place for theatergoers. If a theatre or any information is missing, please email Katie.Laban@gmail.com for it to be added. *This is a developing story, with more information being added as it becomes available.
St. Dunstan's Theatre presents the Ken Ludwig comedy, Leading Ladies, March 20 a?" April 5.
There is nothing quite like watching live theatre performed outside in a Greek theater on a beautiful summer night in Michigan. Mamma Mia!, running now through June 15th at St. Dunstan's Theatre in Bloomfield Hills, will have you singing and dancing in your seat. Mamma Mia! is the sunny and funny tale of young Sophie's search for her birth father. The story unfolds on a Greek island paradise on the eve of her wedding. Sophie's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years earlier. Incorporating the songs made famous by Swedish supergroup ABBA, Mamma Mia! is a fun and uplifting story that will be sure to keep you entertained.
