“Bus Stop”, Silver Scene Players fourth production, will be staged October 2nd-4th 2015 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Marysville, and is being directed by David Dodds. All proceeds will benefit the Marysville Food Pantry. “Bus Stop” is a beautiful story that shows how in the midst of the storms of life we need to take a moment to stop and evaluate and sometimes re-route our lives. It tells the story of 5 weary travelers that are forced to stay at Grace’s Diner, a bus stop in rural Kansas, during a howling snowstorm until the roads are clear. It is a drama with some romantic and comedic elements guaranteed to touch the hearts of their audience.
The Silver Scene Players continues its “give-back to the community” commitment with “Bus Stop”, designating the Marysville Food Pantry as its beneficiary. This is best stated by founding member, Doug Hoy, “Our mission is to have an impact on this community that only begins on stage, and then filters throughout this community.” The theater group’s first three productions raised $2,100 for the combined food pantries of Union County, $1,392 for The Hope Center in Marysville, and $1,116 for the Union County Humane Society.
