Hudson Vagabond Puppets Brings Classic Tale To New Life

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is proud to present the Hudson Vagabond Puppets' "The Snow Queen" Sunday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m as part of its Family & Children Series.

Hudson Vagabond Puppets (HVP), founded in 1980 by creator, Lois Bohovesky, consists of professional dancers and actors, performing with giant puppets for children and their families. They perform more than 150 times per year for over 50,000 students, teachers, and families throughout the country. Along with elementary schools, HVP has performed in concert halls, theaters, festivals, colleges, and major performing arts centers including The Tribeca Performing Arts Center, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center Institute, Orange County Performing Arts Center, The Broward Center for the Arts, The Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, and The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, among others.

"The Snow Queen" has stood the test of time as a tale that was written in the 1840's and continues to be adapted into films, television, theatrical pieces, and even operas. Most recently, the tale was used as inspiration for Disney's "Frozen".

This January, The Hudson Vagabond Puppets take on the classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen with giant marionettes, music, and dancing. This fresh and imaginative take on the classic tale will be a fun experience for kids and adults alike.

Tickets for "The Snow Queen" are available online, by phone or at the box office. Ticket prices range from $20 to $30, plus applicable ticket fees. For more information, call the Patchogue Theatre box office at 631-207-1313 or visit PatchogueTheatre.org.
