It is the rare musical theatre aficionado who doesn?t have a soft spot in his heart for this intimate show, considered by many the most charming musical ever written.brbrGeorg and Amalia are two feuding clerks in a European parfumerie during the 1930's who secretly find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals, little knowing their respective correspondents are none other than each other. Funny, intelligent, honest and sentimental, strongSHE LOVES ME/strong is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old world elegance and nostalgia, yet as universal and relevant as ever in this age of internet romances.brbrstrongSHE LOVES ME/strong showcases a small but strong ensemble cast playing a range of vivid, memorable characters of all ages. Dance is mostly eschewed in favor of clever character-driven songs full of melody and personality. An ideal Christmas or Valentine?s Day show, this heart-warming score by a href="http://mtishows.com/biography.asp?writerid=3354"Jerry Bock/a and a href="http://mtishows.com/biography.asp?writerid=3471"Sheldon Harnick/a (a href="http://mtishows.com/show_detail.asp?showid=000036"strongFIDDLER ON THE ROOF/strong/a) and book by Joe Masteroff (span style="font-weight: bold;"CABARET/span) is a pleasure whatever the occasion!

SOUTH BEND CIVIC THEATRE Frequently Asked Questions FAQ

SOUTH BEND CIVIC THEATRE is at 403 North Main Street, SOUTH BEND, IN.

South Bend Civic Theatre (SBCT) was founded in 1957 by two University of Notre Dame graduates who believed community theatre should be an important part of this area’s culture, and who also believed that living in our community were aspiring actors and actresses who needed to show and form their talents. While early performances were held in homes, hotels, and various locations at Notre Dame, SBCT staged most of its productions after 1968 at the Firehouse, a local historic landmark located on Portage Ave, in South Bend’s historic Near Northwest neighborhood.Beginning in 2000, SBCT began staging larger productions outside the Firehouse, and exploring options for a new permanent venue. In January 2007, the beginning of the Civic’s 50th Anniversary year, SBCT celebrated the opening of its new home in the heart of downtown South Bend, in what had formerly been a First Church of Christ Scientist. The historic domed structure is an architectural wonder and sealed SBCT’s position as a pillar of the region’s art community.
