Dancer Geeta Chandran Presents Performance By Disciple BINDU SHARMA

Dancer Geeta Chandran presents a Bharatanatyam Performance by her disciple BINDU SHARMA at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, 25 November 2018, at the Chinmaya Mission Auditorium 89 Lodi Estate, New Delhi-11003.

Born into a highly accomplished academic family, learning Bharatanatyam was an indulgence granted to me. Performing extensively during school and college days and completing Visharad in Bharatanatyam in the 80s, learning dance was the incentive to perform well in academics. Completing my BSc in Mathematics from Madras University, I moved on to Indore to pursue my MBA -Finance.

After decades abroad, when I returned to India in 2014, I went in search of a guru who could impart the kind of holistic dance education I craved for. I was brought to Natya Vriksha and my guru Geeta Chandran, who kindly accepted me as a student, started me on a journey of self-discovery and realization. Here I was exposed to a whole new pedagogy of dance education where I was challenged at all levels physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual. Never a swimmer but always a diver I plunged into its depths. I came with but One Dream but a whole new world of possibilities opened up. Dance to me has been a total life transforming experience, a prayer, a cry from my soul.
