The Tony Award-winning Alley Theatre and Artistic Director Rob Melrose has announced the 2022-23 season which includes six world premieres including three world premiere plays, two world premiere adaptations, and one world premiere musical. The 76th season also marks the return of the Summer Chills series, after a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19.
The Tony Award®-winning Alley Theatre has announced the cast and creative team of Chisa Hutchinson’s world premiere drama Amerikin. The play is directed by former Resident Acting Company Emeritus member James Black and runs February 11 – March 13, 2022 in the Neuhaus Theatre.
The Alley Theatre will present a variety of contemporary plays as a part of the Alley’s Spring 2021 Digital Season. Written by Alley All New alumni and a Houston-based author, the plays include El Chuco Town Forever by Isaac Gómez (April 2 – May 2, 2021), Man. Kind. by Don X. Nguyen (April 9 – May 9, 2021), and more.
The Alley Theatre has announced the cancellation of all in-person performances of the 2020-21 season. The following shows are affected by the cancellation: Born with Teeth by Liz Duffy Adams (January 22 – February 14, 2021), Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett (March 5 – 28, 2021), and more.
