Hnaths eight-time Tony-nominated play serves as both a playful sequel to Henrik Ibsens 1879 groundbreaking masterpiece as well as a stand-alone work of modern feminist drama. We last saw Ibsens Nora Helmer literally and figuratively slamming the door on her life. When Hnath imagines Noras return 15 years later in PART 2, the same burning questions that Ibsen left unresolved in the 19th century are reignited. A modern perspective reminds us that Noras arguments about freedom, love, responsibility, and gender equality are just as controversial and relevant now as ever. Alanna Dorsett will direct Houston favorites Kim Tobin-Lehl and Philip Lehl as the iconic couple, Nora and Torvald Helmer.

October 20, 2021When Henrik Ibsen's character of Nora left her family in his famous work A Doll's House, western theater was thrust in to the modern era. Now in the 21st century, Nora returns in in Lucas Hnath's A Doll's House Part 2, and the audiences gets answers to the many questions one could have on what happened to Ibsen's feminist protagonist. The audience hears a knock on the door and the doting maid, Anne Marie (Sally Edmundson) opens the door to find the famous Nora standing where she once left.
