The scheduled funding vote has been postponed twice due to some city council members resistance.

The "Harmony in the Air" program has garnered national attention with a feature in The New York Times, and the existing 4 out of 5 star rating has been equated to the program's impact. "Music provides a better passenger experience," states Darryn Perry, managing director in aviation and travel practice. The program is underwritten by the Houston Airport System as an enterprise fund that does not burden the local tax base but requires city council approval.

The City Council vote is scheduled for Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Performing arts groups and advocates of the "Harmony in the Air" program ask for community and media support in an effort to continue performing live music in the Houston airports.
