The performing arts steps out of the box today with the DRAMAVERSITY launch today, December 10, 2018. The live online performing arts academy gives students of all ages, from all over the world, the opportunity to attend performing art classes from the comfort of their home, using a computer or smart device. DRAMAVERSITY offers an array of classes, including theatre, voice, dance, instrumental, and speech, in real time, with expert certified teachers and professional artists. Interested students may sign up at dramaversity.com.

Scot Pankey, a Theatre Teacher in Houston, Texas and Founder of Dramaversity says, "I am an educator and artist, I wanted to think outside the box and create something that would allow the performing arts to be accessible to everyone. There are students of all ages, whether they are young or young at heart, who want to be involved in some type of performing arts program but they don't have the opportunity due to time, money or resources. Dramaversity can meet their needs."

Pankey is excited when he talks about Dramaversity and the possibilities it can bring. When asked who would benefit from Dramaversity, Pankey replies emphatically: "Everyone! I know of students who live in small communities and students who are home-schooled. Taking a performing arts class for them is not an option. Unfortunately, there are schools everywhere having to cut back funding and the performing arts is always the first to go. Those students need an outlet to be able to express themselves. Don't even get me started about how many adults I know who have said to me, 'I wish I could take an adult theatre class, or learn to sing, but I'm too scared.' Now they can! What's so great about Dramaversity is that students could be in a class with students from all over the world while still being in the comfort of their home where they have that security of feeling at ease."

There no denying the sincerity and passion that shines from Pankey when he starts talking about Dramaveristy and the possibilities it can bring. "I think I was born with a servant's heart. I love helping others. When I think about how these courses that are being offered by the best teachers and instructors around, can help students explore their passions, build their confidence and just have fun, it fills my heart. I also love that this opportunity allows my fellow teachers and artist, who works so hard but makes so little, have a way to bring in some extra income by doing what they love. It's totally a win, win."

I'm really excited about this artistic platform and what it brings to arts education and making the arts accessible to everyone. I will be teaching Write It Out, a playwrighting course and Let the Part Play You, an introduction to acting. If you love the performing arts, you have to check out Dramaversity. It's a great way to find your passion and develop your skills. If you are interested in being an instructor, Dramaversity is now taking applications through their website.
