Paris Noir : Concert celebrates Black Culture in Paris; meet Josephine Baker's private secretary

Experience Paris from the 1920's to 1960 as we pay tribute to African American culture in Paris. Art, Literature and Music were all a part of this important movement. Hear the music of Bricktop, Josephine Baker, Eartha Kitt and others who made or sustained their careers in the City of Light.

This exciting concert features Chicago vocalists Frieda Lee, Lynne Jordan, Greta Pope, Ava Logan, accompanied by pianist Miguel de la Cerna and others. Special guests Michèle Barbier and Mylène Launay of Paris.

6:30 PM Reception to meet Michèle Barbier, personal secretary to Josephine Baker, vice-president of the Alliance Francophone, founder of the Kreatika festival of singer-songwriters. Barbier's visit to Chicago is underwritten by the Alliance Francophone.

The Paris Noir event is part of an eight day international conference organized by the Chicago Paris Cabaret Connexion.
