SANDRA Playing at Finnish National Theatre 3/20 - 3/23

SANDRA is playing at Finnish National Theatre in Finland from March 20th to 23rd, 2019.

The civil war sweeps Sandra's home and crushes the future.

Sandra is a monologue of a woman who remains in the middle of the war with five children. Spouse Janne gets into the red card, the app is shot, but Sandra is the hardest fight in her own sauna.

The play is based on Heidi Köngäs's novel of the same name, which the author himself dramatized by actor Kaija Pakaris. Cellist Lea Pekkala and Oskar Merikannon and J.S. Bach's dramatic music carries a heart-breaking story.

"Such women, who stay in the middle of the front with the children, are the world full. This is not a relic of history, this is a fact. And if we understand our own past, we can be more compassionate towards the world" Heidi Köngäs.

Sandra's premiere was on August 8, 2013 in Ruovesi, near the actual venues of the story.

"The cooperation between Pakarinen and Pekkala is enjoyable. The language of Sandra's cello does not break. At the end, there is hope and blue snowflakes appear in the window window. "
