Please prepare to sing a short cut of a traditional musical theater, vaudeville or music hall song. Bring your sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Also, please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is a musical comedy with a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks. It is based on the 1974 comedy film written by Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks.

SEEKING:

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (age 25-35, male presenting, baritenor) Brilliant brain surgeon, professor and grandson of mad scientist Dr. Victor Von Frankenstein.

The Monster (age 20 and up, male presenting, baritone, physically big, tap dancing a plus!) The misunderstood creation of Dr. Frankenstein.

Igor (age 25-35, nonspecific gender, baritenor) Frederick’s faithful, bright-eyed, eager servant and friend with a hunchback.

Inga (age 20-30, female presenting, mezzo soprano with belt) Frederick’s young assistant. Attractive.

Elizabeth Benning (age 25-35, female presenting, mezzo soprano with belt) Frederick's ‘madcap,’ boisterous fiancé.

Frau Blücher (age 40-60, female presenting, mezzo soprano/alto) Stern housekeeper of the Frankenstein estate and former lover of Victor Frankenstein.

Inspector Hans Kemp (age 40-50, male presenting, bass baritone) The head of police in Transylvania. Driven by justice, with a wooden arm and leg.

The Hermit (age 30-60, nonspecific gender, bass baritone) A lonely, blind town hermit, hoping for a friend.

Dr. Victor Von Frankenstein (age 45-65, male presenting, bass baritone) The infamous Dr. Frankenstein and Frederick's grandfather.

Ziggy (age 18-30, nonspecific gender, baritenor) The village idiot.
