SEEKING

Open gender Actors and Actor/Singers for both principal and understudy roles in our upcoming 2019-2020 Season. See breakdown for details.

PREPARATION

Non-Musical: Please prepare 2 contrasting one-minute monologues. Musical: one, one-minute monologue and 32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre piece that shows your range. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided on 3/25 ONLY. Please bring 1 copy of your headshot/resume.

To be considered for both musical and non-musical shows, please audition on Monday, March 25th. That is the only day an accompanist will be present.

Seeking actors of varying age, ethnicity, and gender identity.

EPA Procedures are in effect for audition.

NARRATOR— 45-65, open ethnicity male. Baritone: G2-E4. An intellectual and pleasant story-teller who helps to orchestrate the show and illustrate lessons to the audience. (US Only)

CINDERELLA— 20-30 years old, open ethnicity female. Soprano: G3-G5. A young, earnest maiden who is constantly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters

JACK— 18-25 open ethnicity male. Tenor: A2-G4. A feckless Giant killer who is 'almost a man.' he is adventurous, naïve, energetic, and bright-eyed.

JACK’S MOTHER— 45-65, open ethnicity Female. Soprano: B3-F#5. Browbeating and weary, Jack's protective mother who is independent, bold, and strong-willed.

BAKER—35-45, open ethnicity male. Tenor: Ab2-G4. A harried and insecure baker who is simple and loving, yet protective of his family. He wants his wife to be happy and is willing to do anything to ensure her happiness but refuses to let others fight his battles. (US only)

BAKER’S WIFE— 30-45 years old, open ethnicity female. Mezzo: G3-F5. Determined and bright woman who wishes to be a mother. She leads a simple, yet satisfying life and is very low-maintenance yet proactive in her endeavors.

CINDERELLA’S STEPMOTHER— 40-60, open ethnicity female. Mezzo: A#3-F5. The mean-spirited, demanding stepmother of Cinderella.

FLORINDA— 25-35 open ethnicity female. Soprano: C4-Ab5. Cinderella's stepsisters who are black of heart. They follow in their mother's footsteps of abusing.

LUCINDA—25-35 open ethnicity female. Soprano: C4-Ab5. Cinderella's stepsisters who are black of heart. They follow in their mother's footsteps of abusing.

CINDERELLA’S FATHER/MYSTERIOUS MAN—45-65 years old, open ethnicity, male. Baritone: G3-E4 a mischievous vagrant and nosy meddler. He is a good natured protector and observer.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD— 18-25 years old, open ethnicity female. Mezzo: B3-F5. A spoiled young girl who is strong-willed, quick-witted, fearless, yet youthful and naïve.

WITCH—35-55 years old, open ethnicity female. Mezzo: F3-F5. Sarcastic, obsessive protector of Rapunzel who is straightforward and aggressive.

CINDERELLA’S MOTHER/GRANDMOTHER— 34-65 years old, open ethnicity female. Soprano: G3-Ab5. Deceased with her soul guarding and aiding her daughter from a tree.

CINDERELLA’S PRINCE/WOLF— 25-35 years old, open ethnicity male. Baritone: Bb2-Gb4. Vain and gorgeous, he is a disloyal lover who is currently searching for the next new, exciting thing. Also, hungry and insatiable hunter who takes advantage of the weak by misleading and captivating his prey.

RAPUNZEL— 18-30 years old, open ethnicity female. Soprano: A3-A#5, classically trained singer. A loopy but lovely maiden who is sheltered by the Witch and terribly lonely. She yearns to experience the world.

RAPUNZEL’S PRINCE—25-35 years old, open ethnicity male. Baritone: C#3-A4. Just as vain and gorgeous as his Prince brother, he is always chasing the newest, most exiting endeavor

STEWARD— 30-45 years old, open ethnicity male. Fastidious and officious character actor.

DOCTOR RANK, 35-45 years old, open ethnicity male, their faithful friend and frequent visitor. MRS LINDE, 25-35 years old, open ethnicity female. Nora’s old friend (US Only)

NILS KROGSTAD, 25-45 years old, open ethnicity male, an employee at Torvald’s bank.

HELEN, 30-50 years old, open ethnicity female, a servant in the Helmer household

JANINE— 60’s, white female. Lesbian history professor at an ivy league university. (US only)

ZOE— 18-21, African American female. Student in Janine’s history class. Smart, politically conscious, and focused.

STICK FLY by Lydia R. Diamond, directed by Ron OJ Parsons

1st Rehearsal - Tue 1/7/20; 1st Preview - Wed 2/5/20; Opening - Wed 2/12/20; Closing (6 week run) - Sun 3/15/20

KENT (SPOON)—31, African American Male. Youngest son; grown up with an artistic disposition in a family of doctors and lawyers. Though financially privileged, he has struggled to find his place in his life and family.

TAYLOR —27, African American Female. Kent’s girlfriend. Daughter from an earlier marriage of renowned and recently deceased public intellectual. She was raised by a single mother college professor. Though she has had access to her father's social privileges, her father was not a part of her life and she has gone without financially.

CHERYL—18, African American Female. The daughter of the family maid. Pretty, bright, always well-intentioned. Cheryl has always had a crush on Flip.

FLIP—36, African American male. Oldest son. The golden boy who, with some compromises, has fallen in line with his father's expectations. he is an incorrigible ladies man.

JOE LEVAY (DAD)—58, African American Male. LeVay patriarch. He is a well-intentioned man, who rules his family with a firm, loving hand. He, like Flip, has always had a way with women. (US only)

KIMBER—32, White female, Flip’s girlfriend and an intelligent woman with a quick wit and sincere warmth. Unlike Taylor, her social status matches that of the LeVays, with of course, the undeniable privilege of whiteness. Of this she is aware, and on some level appalled.

THE LAST MATCH by Anna Ziegler, directed by Keira Fromm

TIM—mid-30s, open ethnicity male. A professional tennis player, golden boy and all-American hero.

SERGEI—mid-20s, open ethnicity male. A hot-shot, up and coming Russian professional tennis player.

MALLORY—mid-30s, open ethnicity female. Strong and empathetic, Tim’s wife and a former player navigating a life change.

GALINA—mid/late 20s, open ethnicity female. Ambitious, savvy, and beautiful girlfriend of Sergei, also Russian.
