SEEKING

Male and female actors for the upcoming production of VIETGONE. Please see breakdown for more information.




PREPARATION

Please prepare 1 contemporary comedic monologue, totaling no more than 2 minutes, plus sides from the play (which will be sent to you upon scheduling an audition). Scripts can be obtained by request from mixedbloodauditions@gmail.com

BREAKDOWN

1. Quang - Strong, handsome leading Vietnamese man--the hero of his own story--with a wicked sense of humor and who's not afraid of a fight. He uses these traits to cover up a deep pain he feels for the loss of his family and his country. He likes to rap.

2. Tong - Blunt, smart, strong, confident, beautiful, and funny. She too masks her pain for the loss of her country (Vietnam) and family. She is a stranger in a strange land who's looking for some company. She, too, raps sometimes.

3. Nhan et al - Plays multiple parts, including an American Guy, Nhan (Quang's best friend and travel companion), and Khue (Tong's brother). All roles require good comic timing as well as the ability for seriousness and stillness.

4. Playwright - Plays multiple parts, ranging from Bobby (who speaks stereotypical American) to a Hippie Dude; from a redneck Biker to Giai (who's madly in love with Tong). Like other parts in the play, must have strong abilities with comedy and must also be adept at mi
