Friday, June 10, 2011 (auditions for plays only)

10 AM – 6 PM

Lunch from 2 - 3.

For all productions (musical and dramatic), Actors may choose one or more scenes from the season and/or choose one or more readings from other sources. A reader and sides will be provided. For the musical auditions, please also prepare 16 bars of a musical theater song and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.

Bring TWO (2) copies of your current picture and resume, stapled together.

Note: Scripts for CAR TALK and ARABIAN NIGHTS will be available at the StageSource office at 88 Tremont Street, Suite 714 in Boston on Friday, May 27th. REMEMBERING HM is in early development; a full script is not yet available.

ARABIAN NIGHTS
By Dominic Cooke, directed by Daniel Gidron. A co-production with The Nora Theatre Company.
1st rehearsal: 10/21/11. Runs: 11/17 – 12/31/11

All roles are available and include doubling. This production will be cast non-traditionally. Sides for ARABIAN NIGHTS will be available at the auditions.

Male. Plays the following: Headsman / Baba Mustapha / Steward (in “The Story of the Little Beggar”);

Abu Hassan / Steward (in “the Story of the Envious Sisters”)

Actor 5:

Male. Plays the following: Kasim / Ali Baba’s Son / Tailor / Watchman / Porter / Sidi 1 / Head Cook / Bahman.

Actor 6:

Female. Plays the following: Shahrazad / Chief Of Police / Sorceress / Youngest Sister / Talking Bird

Actor 7:

Female. Plays the following: Dinarzad / Kasim’s Wife / Tailor’s Wife / Hangman / Page / Customer 2 / Parizade

REMEMBERING HM
Written and directed by Wesley Savick

1st rehearsal: 3/12/12. Runs: 4/12 – 5/20/12

All roles are available.

REMEMBERING HM is a new work in development. At the auditions, a side will be provided for the role of HM and a representative ENSEMBLE role.

HM:

At the age of 27, HM underwent brain surgery and lost the ability to form new memories. He became the most significant patient case study in modern neuroscience.

Ensemble (3 roles):

The ensemble members play multiple roles, including scientists. Not gender- or race-, or age-specific.

CAR TALK: THE MUSICAL!!!

1st rehearsal: 5/21/12. Runs: 6/14 – 9/16/12

June 14 – September 16, 2012.

Russell Fenders:

Divorced, down on his luck Bostonian in the midst of a mid-life crisis. Emotionally attached to his ’93 Kia.

Sheila:

Russell’s friend since childhood, also his coworker. Sweet, compassionate, and in love with him.

Ensemble (8 parts):

A variety of characters, including cars, car owners, mechanics, and backup dancers. Men and women.

Underground Railway Theater will also attend the StageSource Equity Auditions on June 13, 2011.
