Lunch from 1:30 – 2:30.

For a five-minute appointment, call 413/747-7797 during normal business hours. Equity Members without appointments will be seen throughout each audition day, as time permits.

Accompanist provided both days. Please prepare EITHER a) a brief, classic rock song OR b) a brief monologue or c) 32 bars of a contemporary song and a one-minute monologue. If singing, bring sheet music in the correct key; accompanist is provided, but may not transpose.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.

Theatre’s casting note: “With the exception of the actor playing Buddy Holly, all other actors must be either instrumentalists or vocalists, and will play additional character parts.”

James Tyrone:

Irish, 60s. Stolid. An actor. Alcoholic.

Mary Tyrone:

Mid 50s. Graceful, a trifle plump. Addicted.

Jamie Tyrone:

Early 30s. Irresponsible charmer. Alcoholic.

Edmund Tyrone:

Mid 20s. Poetic. Alcoholic, in poor health.

Cathleen:

Irish, 20s. Buxom summer maid.

THE 39 STEPS by Patrick Barlow. Dir TBA. 1st reh: 3/19/12. Runs 4/12/12 – 5/20/12.

Note: All actors must be able to work very physically and have a strong sense of 1930s/40s style of acting and films.

Richard Hannay:

British, late 30s. Leading man-type. English accent.

Annabella Schmidt / Pamela / Margaret:

A siren in distress. Annabella: German accent. Pamela: A sweet young thing. Margaret: Scottish. Farmer’s wife.

Clown #1 and Clown #2:

40s and 30s, respectively. Both will play many characters. Physical dexterity a must. Many accents required.
