PREPARATION
Please prepare a song in the style of the show you're auditioning for along with a comedic monologue. For non-singers, prepare a comedic monologue. Singers- if auditioning for more than one show, bring your book with contrasting musical styles.

Jesus Christ Superstar-
Seeking:
Jesus-rock tenor; 20s- 30s; chest voice B2-Ab4, powerful falsetto/scream up to G5; this role demands a well-rounded baritone voice that also has a super extended upper register, virtuosity coupled with sensitive musicianship a must; a true “rock star”, comfortable addressing a group of 12 or an arena of 12,000; this role does not dance but must be comfortable moving. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities
Judas- rock/soul tenor; 20s-30s. (E3-D4 (+); this role requires an agile and sensitive voice with access to extremely high registers across a full dynamic range; stylistically drawing a great deal from soul music, useful reference points would be Stevie Wonder/Murray Head; he is the antagonist of the show, concerned that fame is getting in the way of the message of social justice; someone who can tell a story through a melody, with exquisite diction and intonation; this role does not dance but must be comfortable moving. Pilate- baritone 30s – 40s; a strong baritone with extended high register; a diverse musical journey through both acts requires a singer of great stillness, yet with the ability to tear the roof off in the final bars. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Seeking:
Henry Saunders – The Cleveland Grand Opera's general manager. Father to Maggie. A blowhard who often loses his temper at the slightest mishap.
Julia – Chairwoman of the Cleveland Opera Guild, who considers herself a grande dame. She wears a silver dress which, Saunders says, makes her look like the Chrysler Building.

Professor Callahan - 40's-50's, (A2-F#4 Baritone) - Callahan is a pompous and manipulative law professor at Harvard. Callahan should be charismatic but able to turn instantly into a conniving shark at the turn of a hat.

Oliver Warbucks- 40's-50's Warbucks is a famous billionaire who is used toi getting what he wants. Authoritative and intimadating until he meets his match in Annie. The stay which is one week turns to love. Annie asks him to search for her parents unaware that they're dead. Vocal range top: D5 Vocal range bottom: A3
