For the past decade, Capital Repertory Theatre’s TYA Touring “On-The-Go” productions have been presented in a variety of schools and environments throughout the Capital Region to very diverse audiences. Actors should enjoy performing for and interacting with young audiences (elementary and middle school students). There are post-show discussions after every performance (time permitting). Actors must also be collegial and adaptive. There are no overnight stays on the tour. The TYA work week is Monday – Saturday.

They Built America, a new original work, will introduce students and audiences to the real men, women and children, the politicians, farmers, merchants and laborers who came north to build the Erie Canal. The story of Kelly McPhearson unfolds, that of an undercover female worker on the canal, detailing the creation of this miraculous waterway that transformed America from a burgeoning country into a great nation.
