APPOINTMENTS

No advance appointment necessary. Actors seen on first-come, first-seen basis, with priority to Equity members. Actors’ Equity members may contact Dan O’Neil via email at casting@theatreexile.org.


CONTRACT

SPT AEA SPT Category 6, $493/week AEA and non-union contracts available. EMC points available for non-union actors.

SEEKING

Equity actors for a few roles in the remainder of the 2019-20 season.

Performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities, are encouraged to attend.


PREPARATION

Please prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues totaling no more than 3 minutes. Please also bring picture and resume.

ON THE EXHALE

Synopsis

When a senseless act of violence changes her life forever, a liberal college professor finds herself inexplicably drawn to the very weapon used to perpetrate the crime – and to the irresistible feeling of power that comes from holding life and death in her hands. Peering down the barrel of a uniquely American crisis, she begins to suspect that when it comes to gun violence, we’re all part of the problem.

Synopsis

What would you do if you had the power to build your own baby? And your best friend is a talking Stork? In this version of a near future society, prospective parents learn within the first weeks of conception which genetic traits their child will have, and what behaviors they are likely to exhibit. In this new comedy, two couples collide over what to do with their PRE certification test results. With rapid advances in reproductive technology, modern eugenics is science’s Wild West. How far will we go when playing God?

Synopsis:

Two brothers, Phillip, sensitive, reclusive, never venturing out of his North Philly home and Treat, a violent pickpocket and thief who kidnaps a mysteriously wealthy businessman who turn the table on the two brothers and in strange, hilarious and moving way, becomes their long lost father figure.

A Wild Child who has never ventured from his house.


TREAT

Male, 20s

A Pick Pocket and Thief; violent, suppressed emotions.

Male, middle aged

A Commanding Presence, able to handle any situation. Loving under a tough exterior.
