Preparation

Prepare 16 to 32 bars of a song in a style appropriate to shows. Show vocal range. Bring music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. Be preparedto sing twice. Bring a current headshot and resume, stapled together.

Breakdown

Spamalot - Seeking the following:

KING ARTHUR, male 30’s-60’s, Baritone. The King of England who sets out on a quest to form the Knights of the Roundtable and find the Holy Grail. This actor should have great humor, presence and be a strong singer. N/A – To be played by Star not yet announced.

THE LADY OF THE LAKE, female (20’s–40’s). Alto. A Diva. Strong, beautiful, possesses mystical powers. The leading lady of the show. A MAJOR singing voice is essential, as she must be able to sing effortlessly in many styles and vocal registers. Seeking actresses of all races for this role.

SIR DENNIS GALAHAD, male (20’s-30’s). Bari tenor. Must be a STRONG singer. Begins as Dennis, a lower class 'mud gatherer' who becomes knighted and transforms into the dashing Sir Galahad. The actor also plays THE BLACK KNIGHT who is always ready to duel despite multiple injuries. He also playsPRINCE HERBERT’S FATHER, a wealthy, brutish Yorkshire man at odds with his sensitive son.

PATSY, male (20’s-40’s): King Arthur's horse (think coconuts banging together) and servant. Underappreciated but always longing for King Arthur's approval. Good, funny, physical mover with some tap dancing. Also plays MAYOR, a jolly red-faced man who advertises the merits of his home town and the drunken, useless GUARD 2.

CHARACTER ACTOR MALE (20’s-30's) Tenor singing required. Very good mover. Plays the following roles: HISTORIAN, a tweedy academic, NOT DEAD FRED, a sickly little fellow who, despite other's beliefs, claims he is "not yet dead", FRENCH GUARD, the condemnatory French sidekick to the French Taunter, MINSTREL in Sir Robin's band, and PRINCE HERBERT, the hopeful and frilly prince who sings and pines for his love atop a tower.

Shrek - Seeking the following:

SHREK, male (30’s-40’s), A warm, vulnerable, leading man who prides himself on being a big, green, terrifying ogre. This actor should be a powerful singer and actor.

FIONA, female (20’s–30’s), A powerful comic singer with a major belt, as well as a strong actress and dancer. Must be able to tap. Smart but feelsvulnerable and lost throughout the show due to the curse she has carried since her childhood.

Nunsense - Seeking the following:

FATHER VIRGIL, Local priest who has no success in keeping the Sisters in tow. Sr. Leo’s brother who has radio show. Working to help put the show together.

SISTER JULIA, CHILD OF GOD, Convent cook, a Julia Child type, usually played by Meryl

Streep. Gives audience cooking lesson; warm and wild.

SISTER MARY WILHELM, the convent Doctor; very smart, clinical and grounded. Makes a surprise visit to help with the dead nuns.

South Pacific - Seeking the following:

NELLIE FORBUSH, (20-30) Mezzo Soprano. An attractive, feisty but naive ensign from Little Rock Arkansas. An eternal optimist who must weigh her romantic desires against her deep rooted beliefs. Mezzo with belt.

EMILE DE BEQUE, (40’s) Operatic Baritone. French accent. Roguishly good looking French widower and plantation owner. Very romantic and passionate - with a past.

STEWPOT, (20’s–30’s) Seabee. Billis’ thick-skulled second mate. Must sing well. Mary Poppins - Seeking the following:

MR. GEORGE BANKS, (early 40’s) Baritone. A senior bank clerk by name, nature, and occupation. Believes, however wrong he may be, that he had the perfect childhood. Rules with an iron fist but his emotional armor is concealing a sensitive soul. He is a pipe and slippers man who doesn’t have much to do with his children. Absent-minded, always losing his possessions. Likes things just so even though money is always tight for a salaried man. The actor cast in this role will also be considered for the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire production of Mary Poppins opening October 2013.

MRS. WINIFRED BANKS, (30’s) Mezzo Soprano. Very busy trying to live up to her husband’s desire to only associate with the best people. A loving but distracted mother. She is overwhelmed by the conflict between her desire to please her husband and children and the contradictory suspicion that she’sboth not up to the job and worth more. The actress cast in this role will also be considered for the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire production of Mary Poppins opening October 2013.

MISS ANDREW, (40’s-50’s) Soprano with Alto Belt. George’s old nanny. Overbearing lady with a huge trumpeting voice. Beak nosed, grim mouthed, small peering be-spectacled eyes. A bully who only knows one way of doing things – her way. The actress cast in this role will also be considered for the MarriottTheatre in Lincolnshire production of Mary Poppins opening October

2013.

ROBERTSON AY, (Early 20’s) Tenor. The house boy to the Banks family. Lazy, sleepy and grumbling. He never gets things right so believes himself to be useless. The actor cast in this role will also be considered for the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire production of Mary Poppins opening October 2013.

THE BIRDWOMAN, (50’s) Covered in patchwork of old shawls, her pockets are stuffed with bags of crumbs for the birds. Sings “Feed the Birds”. The actress cast in this role will also be considered for the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire production of Mary Poppins opening October

2013.

West Side Story - Seeking the following:

TONY, male (late teens–late 20’s) Young man, charming and optimistic. Strong actor with an excellent classically trained tenor voice (to “Bb”).

MARIA, female (late teens-late 20's) Latin, must have a young girl quality. Innocent and beautiful. Excellent soprano to a high C. Strong actress.

ANITA, female (mid 20's-early 30's) Sexy, vivacious, & full of life. Must be an amazing dancer. Strong belt to C#. Strong actor. Must be able to believably portray a Latino woman.

ANYBODYS, young girl (teens to early 20's), tomboy who wants to be part of the Jets gang;

strong dancer.
