BREAKDOWN
Project Description
The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity by Kristoffer Diaz is a drop-kicking, body-slamming theatrical happening set in the larger-than-life world of pro-wrestling. Macedonio “Mace” Guerra plays the fall-guy for mega-successful “THE” Wrestling League, losing again and again to the impossibly charismatic champ Chad Deity. When Mace discovers a young Indian-American Brooklyn kid whose charisma rivals that of Chad’s, Mace decides to get him a job in the company. Only problem is, the boss has a very specific plan for the duo: put them onscreen as terrorists.
Character Breakdown/Descriptions
Seeking actors to play 5 professional male wrestlers. Roles are ethnically specific. This production includes professional wrestling. Any physical training is a plus.
Macedonio Guerra (also known as the Mace) - A Puerto Rican professional wrestler. Good at what he does, undersized, our hero. 20’s-30’s.
Chad Deity - African American. The champion of THE Wrestling. Confident, handsome, not a very good wrestler. 20’s-30’s.
Vigneshwar Paduar (also known as VP) - A young Indian American Brooklynite. Charismatic, natural, effortless. Must have a feel for hip-hop and rapping. 20’s-30’s.
The Bad Guy - A non-discript professional wrestler. (non-speaking; also plays Billy Heartland and Old Glory). 20’s-30’s. Any ethnicity.
Everett K. Olson (also known as EKO) – Caucasian. The owner of THE Wrestling. Brash, confident, ostensibly our villain. Late 30’s to early 50’s. A Vince McMahon.
