PREPARATION

Audition will consist of a 1-minute classical monologue in verse. Sides from the play will be available. Please bring a copy of your Headshot and Resume

While Shakesperience’s studio is based in Downtown Waterbury, this production will be performed in Washington Depot in the Litchfield Hills.

BREAKDOWN

SOLINUS (Possibly to cast as equity)
The Duke of Ephesus.

EGEON (Possibly to cast as equity)
A merchant from Syracuse, Egeon is the father of twin boys (both named Antipholus) and the husband of Emilia. He has grieved the loss of his thought-dead wife and son.

ANTIPHOLUS OF EPHESUS (Intend to cast as equity)
The long-lost twin brother of Antipholus of Syracuse. Must have excellent comedic timing and a great facility for language.

ANTIPHOLUS OF SYRACUSE (Intend to cast as equity)
The long-lost twin brother of Antipholus of Ephesus. Must have excellent comedic timing and a great facility for language.

DROMIO OF EPHESUS (Intend to cast as non-equity)
Servant of Antipholus of Ephesus. Lost twin of Dromio of Syracuse. Strong physical comedian.

DROMIO OF SYRACUSE (Intend to cast as non-equity)
Servant of Antipholus of Syracuse. Lost twin of Dromio of Ephesus. Strong physical comedian.

ANGELO (Intend to cast as equity)
A goldsmith.

DOCTOR PINCH (Intend to cast as non-equity)
A schoolmaster/doctor.

EMILIA (Possibly to cast as equity)
The long-lost wife of Egeon, Emilia became an abbess at Ephesus after the shipwreck.

ADRIANA (Intend to cast as non-equity)
Wife of Antipholus of Ephesus.

LUCIANA (Intend to cast as non-equity)
Adriana’s sister.

NELL (Intend to cast as non-equity)
The wife of Dromio of Ephesus and servant of Adriana.

COURTESAN (Intend to cast as non-equity)
Member of the community of Ephesus, Courtesan sings with the busker and chorus.

JAILER (Intend to cast as non-equity)
Featured ensemble role.

CLOCK CHORUS/MUSICIANS (Intend to cast as non-equity)
6 youth performers. Must be accomplished singers.

APPRENTICE TO ANGLEO (Intend to cast as non-equity)
A teenaged Goldsmith’s apprentice. Ensemble role.

APPRENTICE TO JAILER (Intend to cast as non-equity)
A teenaged Jailer’s apprentice. Ensemble role.

APPRENTICE TO DOCTOR (Intend to cast as non-equity)
A teenaged Doctor’s apprentice. Ensemble role.

BUSKER (Intend to cast as non-equity)
A roaming musician.
