Seeking
WaterTower Theatre is seeking a strong ensemble of 8 adult actors for the upcoming show The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. These roles are local hire only. No housing or travel can be provided.

Preparation
Actors should come dressed to move and be willing to play. Sides will be provided but please also be willing to create spontaneously in addition to the given sides. Audition appointment, headshot and resume are required. Scripts are available for perusal at WTT Box Office (open Tues-Fri 12-6).

Breakdown

Tom Sawyer - Male. Plays age 12. Mischievous, good-hearted, adventurous.

Becky Thatcher - Female. Plays age 12. New girl. Earnest. Good foil for Tom.

Joe Harper - Male. Plays age 12. Tom's bosom friend and frequent playmate. Also plays adults.

Sid Sawyer - Male. Tom’s younger half-brother. Antithesis of Tom. Also plays adults.

Muff Potter - Male. Town drunk; cohort of Injun Joe. Fond of Tom and Huck. Plays other adults.

Injun Joe - Male. The Villain. Not a dime-store Indian at all. Half Native American-
half Caucasian, and all truly frightening. Plays other adults.

Huckleberry Finn - Male. Plays 12ish. Juvenile outcast, shunned by respectable society, adored by the local boys who envy his freedom. Like Tom, Huck is highly superstitious, but unlike Tom he is more earthy and even-keel.

Aunt Polly - Female. Plays 30s-50s. Tom’s aunt and guardian. A simple, kindhearted woman who struggles to balance her love for her nephew with her duty to discipline him. Above all, Aunt Polly wants to be appreciated and loved. Also plays Widow Douglas.
