Breakdown

Seeking a diverse cast for the following roles:

BARB:
late 40’s/early 50’s; a nurse; full of a frenetic energy; a dreamer; determined to find self-actualization (even if she doesn’t quite know what that means).

CARLA CARLA:
early 40’s; a nurse; Barb’s best friend at work; CARLA CARLA wants to marry her girlfriend Donna but wants some changes first; struggles to understand her own dissatisfaction.

NICK:
mid 30's; easygoing; free-spirit; gay man; in love with the idea of being in love; oddly resilient.

DONNA:
mid-30’s; works at the aquarium; addicted to cigarettes and sarcasm; a bad liar; devoted to Carla-Carla.

THE SHARK:
a mako shark; lives at the aquarium where Donna works; surprisingly articulate (for a shark); reveals himself to be a poetic soul; honest. Gorgeous and dangerous.

BOB:
early 50’s; Barb’s husband; a “normal” guy; does not react well to change; incapable of self-reflection.
